Practice Review Advisor at APEGA

    Dale Vanhooren, P.Geoph., joined APEGA in February 2018 as a practice review advisor. In his role, he conducts permit holder practice reviews, which includes advising registrants and ensuring professional obligations are met. Dale’s 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry has primarily been focused on data-intensive resources and unconventional development, managing technical teams onshore in North America. He has held various positions, including technical, team lead, and senior and joint-venture management with progressively increased responsibility at a multinational company. A former teacher turned professional geophysicist, Dale first obtained his bachelor of education, followed by two bachelor of science degrees—one in physics and mathematics, and the other in geophysics. He also attended the Catalyst program at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
