Erum Afsar, P.Eng.

Director of Enforcement at APEGA

    Erum Afsar, P.Eng., is the Director of Enforcement with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. In this role, she oversees the compliance and discipline functions of APEGA. Erum obtained her degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University and has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation sector. She has worked with the public and private sectors in Alberta and Saskatchewan, where she has built great, sustainable communities. She has been recognized for her leadership contributions in a professional and volunteer capacity, including Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue magazine, The Next 10 by Alberta Venture, and A Woman Who Inspires by the Canadian Council of Muslim Women. In 2019, she received a Queen’s Engineering Excellence 125th Award from her alma mater.
