Samantha Proulx, C.E.T., RHFAC, principal at ABE Factors Inc., is a leading Canadian technical accessible built environment (ABE) specialist and interprovincially trained building code consultant. She has more than nine years of experience educating and working alongside design industry professionals in developing and maintaining universally accessible yet safe and compliant built environments that can be entered, experienced, and exited safely by everyone. Samantha specializes in Canadian accessibility codes, standards, regulations, and governing legislation and has an extensive skill set in teaching and applying Part 3: Fire and Life Safety of the building code. She has been recognized as an expert in her field, was the first Albertan to obtain her professional accessibility assessor designation through the Rick Hansen Foundation accessibility certification (RHFAC) program, is an instructor of the RHFAC program at SAIT, and has been retained as a leading expert on the built environment regarding slips, trips, and falls.
